We had a pretty miserable introduction to Koi keeping.

Constantly battling water and illness it was awful.

Something had to give before we lost all of our fish and gave up!

That's when we met Matthew at Koi Konnexions.

He explained their 'Perfect Pond' approach which made complete sense, and gave us all of the info we needed to go off and fix our issues on our own, if we wanted to.

He also offer to help supply, or supply & fit the equipment, if needed.

We ended up buying the equipment only and installing it ourselves, it was a nice weekend project during lockdown!

Instantly after finishing the works we saw improvements in the water quality and now three months on our experience is completely different!

We inherited an empty pond when moving house, and weren't planning to keep the pond, but after looking into it we changed our minds.

We studied everything online and decided on a Nexus220 filter...

We went down to our local EA stockist, but, to our surprise, when we got there to enquire we were sold something completely different!

With the little knowledge I had I queried the sponge based filtration system specifications, as I had read they were light on the bio side, and not to mention even the manual said the size we had was only good up to 8 full sized Koi and we wanted 12 - 15, but was told as this was German made it was massively over specified and they had used these filters regularly on ponds twice our size!

I took their advice and regretted it ever since.

After a year of trying to get the thing to work we gave up and ended up contact Koi Konnexions, they got everything fixed in no time!

I had no idea that constantly chucking treatments into my pond was a sign that something else was wrong.

Looking at all of the forums it seemed to be part of keeping the fish.

After reading a post from Koi Konnexions it prompted me to think differently.

I made an enquiry explaining my issues over the last 18 months received a prompt reply suggesting I was looking at treating the fish, when in essence the water was causing all of my problems.

I had good mechanical filtration, but poor biological.

Matthew explained what I could do and recommended several approaches, even DIY to my surprise, and I decided, if I was going to look after my fish, I wanted them to be as healthy as possible, within my budgetary constraints anyway.

So I went ahead with the suggestions and ordered the equipment from KK.
